Singapore Gardens by the Bay

On July 23, 2012, in Architecture, Gallery, HDR, Low Light, People and Places, by Amiya

The newly constructed Gardens by the bay are amazing. The construction is aimed to raise the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the city. Along with the gardens there are two conservatories – a flower dome and a cloud forest. The place is worth visiting and can be easily reached from Bayfront MRT. Some of the wide angle shots are panoramas.

Night Shots: taken over Henderson waves bridge

On November 6, 2011, in Gallery, HDR, Low Light, by Amiya

Things I learned: when keeping your camera on tripod, switch off image stabilization (IS)!! (when taking long shots on relatively steady situations the IS itself can cause more vibrations than external factors). Also consider using delay shutter and mirror lock to avoid shake caused by hand and reflex action of mirror.

Pretty Women – please pose for the camera

On July 4, 2011, in Abstract, Architecture, Gallery, People and Places, by Amiya

I had a pretty packed weekend this time…Two Barbecue parties, movie and lots a sleeping as well. Took some photos while roaming around and caught this lovely snap of a mother asking her lovely daughter to pose for the camera. You can see the sparkle in the face of the sweet girl as she smiles for the camera. One clear advantage of having a 300mm is that it allows you to be so far from the subject that the presence of the observer (aka photographer) never intrudes into the expressions of the subject. I also experimented with HDR and some blurs. Feedback and likes appreciated as always…

BTW: Delhi Belly is awesome…a must watch for every movie buff.
