Tainted reality – The incompleteness of our perceived world

On April 17, 2012, in Blog, Neuroscience, Philosophy, Research, Serious, by Amiya

Over time one thing I learned the hard way is that people can have radically different views. This is true even for the most objective of things as well as most rational people. Many say that science and religion have a lot in common. Few may go even further and say science and religion are two different perspective of looking at the same thing! Saying religion and science are compatible is like saying Religion and Plumbing are compatible. Science is not a thing – it’s a verb.

Artificial Soul

On November 17, 2010, in Blog, irregular, Philosophy, Technology, by Amiya

If you can recreate each and every neuron and its interconnections, you can (re)create an artificial brain which is exactly like ours – conscious, thinking, self evaluating, intelligent and capable of dreaming and feeling; put appropriately – an  artificial life with an artificial soul! Some may deem the statement as outrageous and  absurd but as I see it, […]

Let go…

On July 11, 2010, in Faith and belief, Philosophy, by Amiya

Life has never been a smooth road. It has its twist and turns and it is the surprises along them that make life – well livable. In many of my soul-searching sessions (it refers to searching for my own soul not my soul partner!) the question that intrigues me the most is – “What is […]

Fate and destiny

On May 20, 2010, in Faith and belief, Philosophy, Serious, by Amiya

D: It is written. That is how the critically acclaimed British film “Slumdog Millionaire” ended. You are free to show anything you want in a movie but when it comes to real life, destiny and fate is something too difficult for me to digest. There are a billion people clinging on to the ideology; some to veil […]
