What the Idea netsetter ad should have been.
This is regarding Idea Net Setter connection, ph. no. 9848259630 SIM no. 701200002278564 which I took from Idea kiosk Mehendipatanam, Hyderabad on 27th June 2009. The connection was activated on 30th night. Although your representative (Mr. Srinivas) warned me that the speed might me much less than the theoretical limit of 236kbps I never imagined that it would be next to zero. The speed realized at my home as well as office was practically of no use. I must mention that network strength at both the places were above 90%. I am sorry to say but going for Idea Netsetter was a very bad idea. The way you advertise the product completely misguides the customer into thinking that it is a high speed wireless internet device marginally slower than broadband. In reality your product can’t even be compared with dial-ups in terms of average speed. With better technologies like DSL, CDMA, Wi-Max and EVDO already available which offer speeds an order higher than what you offer at marginally higher prices I request you to discontinue or at least let the customer know what to expect from your product for the sake of your own reputation.
I discontinued the service on 7th
July 2009. Money spent worth INR 2490 on the modem is a total waste. I expected more out of Idea Cellular whose stake is held by giant companies like Aditya Birla Group, the Tatas and AT&T wireless. At the very least I expect you to refund me the modem cost as it is hardly used for even a week. I have already packed the modem into its original box so that if you don’t refund it I’ll sell it to another idiot on ebay (What an idea Sir Ji!!). So please reply back as soon as possible.
PS: As it turns out I haven't received a single reply from them (I have mailed it to 10 different location). Even the device could not be sold on ebay. So I threw it in the sewer (where it rightly belongs).
